Bringing together two of our quirkiest publications along with our first print, our design lovers bundle offers something incredibly unique. Across 38pp of 2 part listing paper, printed in-house on an OKI Microline, freeform 001 explores how design might best be utilised to shape a better future whilst facing a cost of living crisis. It shares the thoughts of a selection of brilliant design minds, presented as a non-white paper – touching on governmental structures, educational systems and learnings from around the world. FLIP presents a showcase of pioneering voices from the worlds of strategy, design and innovation – focusing on how they each ‘do the right thing.’ The first half of the publication features deep dive interviews with Tom Miskin, Grant McCracken, Julie Scott and Tabitha Goldstaub. From here, the publication flips upside down to guide readers through a conversational labyrinth built from the tangents and connections that their discussions spark.

The bundle is completed with Catalyst, our first print which celebrates the catalysts for positive change that we’re lucky enough to work with every day. Locally printed via risograph, the ink that is used is soy-based, resin-free and without volatile solvents, allowing environmentally friendly printing which uses minimal electricity. The Catalyst print’s paper is Context Ivory, a recycled and FSC certified stock.

Rewriting the story of dementia: what sales of this product make possible

1 in 2 of us will be directly affected by dementia in our lifetimes; it is currently the leading cause of death in the UK. In spite of this, the general public are largely unaware of the dementia journey and how this can look for an individual following diagnosis.

Many people with dementia feel their voice is taken from them and their true lived experience is rarely recognised or appreciated amidst a plethora of sensationalised headlines, medical jargon or scaremongering.

Within this landscape, we collaborate with people with dementia and, together, play with words to give voice to their experience. We then share these words across our print publications, online features, newsletters and events – centring lived experience and using this to increase empathy and understanding in wider society too often presented with a flattened, singular narrative of dementia focussed on incapacity, loss and inability. Our work redresses this, unlocking and showcasing what people with dementia can do before sharing this to rewrite the narrative by centring lived experience.

At this pressing time, please support this vital project by purchasing from our shop or becoming a boom saloon member, with our thanks.
